ONE PARTY! the point is not to fight amongst ourselves but to focus ALL our energies on fighting capitalism.
Imagine if there was one party of the revolutionary left? For arguments sake we’ll call it The Communist Party, as this name doesn’t appear to be taken yet (Editor’s note: although there are every other variety you could possibly think off - CPB, CPGB, NCP, RCP etc)
How easy would it be for young (and not so young) communists to engage with revolutionary politics. An end to the confusion that surrounds who is The Party.
There are some very talented and committed individuals on the left who have committed their lives to revolutionary politics but are unable to create the impact that their efforts deserve due to the fragmented nature of the left.
How many comrades do you know who have become disillusioned with political life due to continual infighting and a lack of a coherent party?
Sometimes it seems that comrades expend more bile arguing the toss amongst themselves rather than attacking the ruling class.
Originally we were going to come up with a brief outline programme for this party but that seems to be missing the point. In order for a consensus to be reached it needs to come through debate. This needs to include as many groups as possible otherwise we just end up with one more tiny left group, and there are far too many of them already.
We humbly suggest a starting point :
1. We aim to recruit all politically advanced workers into one Communist Party.
Surely, no one can argue with that? Feel free to email your contributions.
WHAT WE SAY:
Fighting against sectarianism: We want one party.
Left sectism is a major barrier to progressing towards a communist revolution. You cannot simply tell the working class about marxism. You need to find a path to this in the current political climate. For left sects to oppose the formation of one communist party means that they feel unable to play a leading role in building it. They are putting their own sects interests before the interests of the working class which is both damaging to the struggle and unaccepting of the current political reality.
